Nice fridge, but inspect before plugging in

Fridge arrived with no damage to the box or outside of the unit. The only problem was that the compressor either was not bolted properly at the factory or it worked loose during shipping. I had to remount it and tighten everything up before plugging it in.
It runs quite and gets quite cold. I recommend it overall but make sure you inspect it right away when you get it.

I was hesitant to order after reading some of the reviews of damaged refrigerators. The refrigerator arrived in perfect condition and has been plugged in for three days now. I had it delivered directly to my office, paid nothing for shipping through Prime and feel I got a great deal. It is absolutely silent. I think it’s a great little fridge for the price.

I boughy it for my office at work. It was larger than what I was looking for but it was the best value. The freezer takes a couple to freeze ice cubes, but other than that it has worked well. Recieved it in just a couple of days without any damage to shipping box.

It came with a dent on the side but since it’s on the side that I don’t see, I don’t really mind. It keeps the drinks cold, but the freezer section isn’t great. Don’t keep ice cream in there as it will melt.

This refrigerator is great – if you want to keep soda cold. The items in the door are barely chilled, not cold….the freezer either doesn’t freeze at all OR freezes so well that everything on the top shelf freezes too…all without touching the temperature dial. On the positive – it’s a nice size.

I received this product on a Thursday and am returning it the next Friday. It worked well for about 3 hours, and then it shut down completely. It would not work, even after the “re-set” prescribed by Sanyo. Perhaps I received a “lemon”, but I will not be purchasing another Sanyo product.
UPS did not pick up the item as they said they would. Moreover, Amazon’s initial response to my inquiry to assist me in getting the item returned through UPS or another carrier bordered on stupid.
Nice Fridge but Door Design needs work

This was purchased for the office and the door of the refrigerator has a very weak wire bar that goes across the bottom shelf. If you have tall bottles of water or soda, they will fall over every time you open the door. This is the only place you can store tall items in a vertical position, so now we have to lay them down on the bottom of the refrigerator. The freezer works well, and the refrigerator keeps things cold. We are just not satisfied with the bottom shelf on the door.

I bought this mini fridge for my office because it was affordable and had the functionality I was looking for. Many of the reviews describe it as “quiet” and produces only a “light hum” that can barely be heard.
In my opinion it is really loud. The first problem is that the motor starts to run every 7 minutes or so for a duration of 3 minutes. This is assuming that you don’t open the door at all. The hum is a distraction to me while I am at my desk and I share an office with another employee and he has already complained about the noise also.
I would not recommend this for office use. The actual temperature is fine and it keeps drinks and food cool enough. It is just too loud.
Extra fridge

Little beauty sits over in the corner, quietly keeping everyday things cool. It’s just used to keep drinks and snack items easily available. The kinds of things that you keep opening the regular refrigerator for all day long. My regular refrigerator seems to run a lot less and keeps items colder now that it’s not opened countless times.
I do recommend that you use the sanyo as a shelf for storage, first the empty space is there and who can allow it. Also the unit needs to held down, its not well balanced. If you lean on the door as you bend down it has a tendency to tip forward. And that is the only really bad thing I can say about it.

The packaging hadn’t been so pathetic. The tiny pieces of styrofoam, that failed to cushion the fridge during shipping, led to a fridge that arrived leaking coolant. The cooling part of the unit had come dislodged from the frame, and one of the pipes was broken and leaking. PLUS there was no crisper drawer included. I won’t be buying a replacement from Sanyo!!!

I’m very happy with this fridge.
It is very quiet, just a faint humming noise that you have to get right up close and bend over it to hear. I have it in the pantry, but could easily put it in my office.
It certainly gets cold enough. I like my beer cold, and, I have the unit set around 2/3 and it is nice and chilly, with plenty of control left to go colder. Items in the bottom shelf and door are cold too.
(I don’t know what problem the other reviewer was having with items in the door not being cold enough. I do keep the fridge pretty full, so maybe that helps stabilize the temps, or, my unit is just not having that problem. So far, I haven’t tried the freezer, e.g. for ice or ice-cream, so I can’t comment on that).
Also, as far as I could tell, instructions didn’t say anything about leaving it stand for 24 hours before running the first time (or after moving it and especially tilting), but I’ve seen that on other fridges, and I thought it was a good practise to follow, so I did.
I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered it with 1-day shipping, which seemed to have the desired effect as it came with no damage. $3 for 1 day shipping of a fridge is quite a deal – you have to love Amazon Prime!
I thought the packaging was basically sufficient as long as treated ok by the shipper, though it doesn’t safeguard much against rough handling such as poking something into a side panel.
My wife said she could detect a faint smell at first, since it is in a small walk-in pantry where we usually keep the door closed, but I think that’s all gone now.
I bought this one because of the energy rating (low enough), the size (big enough), and, the door wasn’t dedicated to 12-oz cans like many of the others.
I’d buy this again!

the freezer is a complete waste of space. About the only thing the freezer seems to be good for is frosting over. Have had this fridge for our computer room for just over 4 years now and it does a wonderful job of keeping water and other beverages nice and cold. Plenty of space to store lots of bottles of water, beer or whatever you prefer. If it wasn’t for the freezer issue, I would gladly have given this one more stars.

Received my package with a little damage to the box. Thought I was in trouble, but the fridge was pristine. Let it sit for a day before plugging it in – and it has worked like a dream ever since! It will fit 2 liter bottles, milk jugs.. cans and bottles fit on the door. Turned cooler dial just shy of 3/4 and the freezer works pretty good (Haven’t tried ice cream). Comes with an ice cube tray that you can actually get the cubes out of.
I was leery of buying an item this big and relatively fragile on-line, but after having it delivered directly to work, not having to deal with the hassle of loading it up and hauling it myself, I am truly sold!!
Bottom line – I would highly recommend this refrigerator to anyone looking for a work or study model!
