Shipping Problems
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I ordered this item yesterday, and it arrived only 24 hours later. Unfortunately, it arrived damaged to the point that it is unusable. A panel on the bottom is bent so that the fridge cannot sit squarely on the ground, and there are dents on the sides and corners. To be honest, I’m amazed it’s not worse, as it was packed in only a plastic bag and the box, no additional packing materials.

Both the size and the price are good, so I’m hoping that the replacement item that is being shipped to me will work out.

Great Office Fridge
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I ordered this fridge for use in my office. I’ve had it for a week, and I have nothing negative to say about it. Excellent capacity, nice looks, adjustable glass shelves, and a nifty built-in soda can dispenser. It’s also nice and quiet: it sits right behind/next to my chair, and it never distracts me. I had it shipped overnight (it was in stock last week), and it arrived in perfect condition. So far, so good!

Had 2 wks. and it now won’t work
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Well I hate to be the one to leave a bad review, but I must. My husband and I bought this fridge and received it 2 wks. ago. Yesterday, my husband noticed that it was not making any noise and realized that the insides of the fridge were no longer cool. The compressor was so hot that it could not be touched. We unplugged it and let it cool down and thought that it would maybe come back to life. No such luck! It’s dead.

I have requested to send it back but I no longer can find the packaging slip so that I have the address to send it back to. We will see how returning it goes, but for that kind of $$. I just hope that they take it back and give me a refund.

Second Time Around
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased this refrigerator for my office. It is to be shared by a group of 5 people, so I wanted one that was a little bigger than the typical compacts. I paid for overnight deliverly as others had suggested. The unit arrived in a box that had been previously opened. I was a bit worried when I removed the item from the box. It had some large dents on the side, but was otherwise ok. Once I plugged it in, I realized there were bigger issues. The motor was very loud and was cycling constantly. It would run for seven minutes and then would be off for four minutes, then on for seven, off for four – yes I actually timed it. Everytime the unit came on it startled me. At first I thought that once the motor broke in, that it would become quiet. That did not happen. After having the unit for 24 hours and spilling a cup of coffee on my desk from my rattled nerves, I called Amazon for a replacement unit.

The new refrigerator arrived the next day. Once again, it arrived in a box that had previously been opened. The replacement had a large dent on the door, but otherwise works great. It is so quiet. I barely notice it when the motor is running. What a difference! I actually check it on occasion to make sure that it is working because I don’t notice it at all. I switched doors with the first refrigerator and now I have a unit that has no significant dents and it doesn’t interrupt my work environment. The actual refrigerator is nice looking and has a lot of interior space. After the experience with the first one, I am a bit concerned about the reliability, but for now, I am satisfied.

Pretty Darn Good
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Ok – first of all, if you’re living in the dorms, don’t forget that refrigerators make noise. Somehow that surprised me when I first started using this. It stops once it gets cold enough, so the noise isn’t a huge issue all the time; and you get used to it. Mine arrived a little broken, the cheap plastic cover for the door hinge had cracked and broken off. The hinge itself kind of sticks up over the door which isn’t pretty but also wasn’t worth sending it back for. Other than that, this thing is awesome. I haven’t tried freezing anything, but I can easily fit a week’s groceries inside (I don’t really cook so there’s fruit/sandwich/yogurt/drink type stuff). It is about the height of a computer desk so can double as a prep table in tiny rooms which is awesome. I’m pretty sure this is bigger than the average dorm fridge, but it even has a reversable door hinge, so it’ll fit just about anywhere. I would recommend it, as long as you are prepared for the possibility that it won’t arrive in absolutely pristine condition.

Noisy.
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The unit seems to work o.k. It is noisy & seems to cycle on & off more than one would think it should. When the unit arrived, the freezer unit had come loose & we had to reattach it.

Same Ol’ Story – Damaged During Shipment
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Like many other customers who ordered this refrigerator, mine also arrived damaged. One of the corners on the top was dented. It’s amazing to me that the product is not packed better for shipment – there was no packing material of any kind around the top of the unit. It seems to work fine for now – and since the unit is for a bar area and sits under a counter (where the damage will be hidden) I decided to keep it rather than go through the hassle of returning it. Sounds like I got off lucky compared to others ! I definitely would not order from this company again (Gizmos) – unless perhaps it was a plush toy or bag of cotton balls – definitely nothing that has a solid structure. As for my next compact refrigerator – I think it will be a GE that I pickup from Sears.

seems to be a recurring theme
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
When it arrived, the box was open and torn. As soon as we opened the box the rest of the way, the top of the fridge was very obviously dented in, we’re talkin a good inch and a half dented. But since it’s for our bar area we decided to keep it. It has a lot of space and gets cool quickly, but does make a bit of noise. I probably wouldn’t buy from this company again though. For it to be that damaged when it arrived doesn’t bode well for durability.

GOOD PRODUCT

I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY OFFICE TO REPLACE ANOTHER BRAND(THAT ONLY LASTED 14 MONTHS). I AM VERY IMPRESSED W/ THE QUALITY AND ROOM OF THE HAIER. HAIER IS A COMPANY IN CHINA, BUT THE PLANT THAT MAKES THIS REFRIGERATOR IS LOCATED IN THE USA. AT THIS PRICE ($150) YOU CAN BEAT IT. BTW, IT HAS A SMALL FREEZER COMPARTMENT WHICH IS NICE FOR KEEPING SMALL ITEM FROZEN. THE DELIVERY WAS FAST AND IT MAKES IT EASIER THAN TRYING TO HAUL ONE HOME FROM THE STORE. I GOT MINE W/ FREE DELIVERY AND NO TAXES THRU AMAZON.

Does the job nicely
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Purchased for a shared office location and other than the small freezer issue others have mentioned, it is a good value for the money. I see it getting plenty of use over the next few years. Mine did arrive rather scraped up, but it was not worth the hassle to send back, or I’d rate it a 5.

Just what we needed
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This was a replacement for one we had in the garage (man den). It’s actually better because it has more space to store beverages and it seems to keep them much colder. I’m very happy with this fridge.

The first one came in damaged (most likely during shipping). The box had several holes in it and there were dents in the door, top and side of the unit. I called Amazon the next day and they were great in handling the replacement and the return of the damaged one, they sent the replacement out right away. I think we had it two days. Amazon arranged for UPS to pick the damaged one back up and said that UPS would call me to schedule a pickup.

The only thing negative thing (which really isn’t that bad) is that although I was told that UPS would call me to schedule a pick up, they never did. I then received an email from Amazon saying that I only had a few days left to return it or I would be charged again. I immediately contacted them and told them that UPS never called and they handled it again right away. UPS never called to shedule a pick up again. However they did finally leave a pick up tag at my door one day saying that the next day would be their 3rd and final attempt! I didn’t even know they did a 1st and 2nd attempt.

I have to say that Amazon’s Customer Service has really been great!

Stopped Working in Less than a Year
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I purchased this for the office in April of 2008; it stopped working about three weeks ago. I am waiting to hear back from Amazon… Not sure if there’s any kind of warranty, but it stopped working after a little over ten months of use.

product arrives broken
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The refrigerator arrived in a broken box. Even the delivery driver was surprised about the condition. Product was refused at delivery. I did report issue to customer service at Amazon. I did not order another unit. Other reviews did indicate that the product was arriving damaged.

NIGHTMARE!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
AVOID THIS COMPANY!! My unit arrived broken. Haier customer service was rude & obnoxious. They were completely unapologetic & seemed to go out of their way to be UNHELPFUL. When I finally bullied them into action, they wanted a full week to send out a service man who may or may not have been able to fix it. I spoke to both customer service and corporate, both were extremely rude and entirely useless. What’s more, neither one had the decency to so much as apologize. NEVER AGAIN.

This was every internet buyer’s nightmare!

It Does What It’s Supposed To
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
It keeps stuff cold and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg.

That pretty much sums it up.

Great value.
