Swiss watch of microwaves
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Got myself this new microwave:

which I was very carefully choosing at Best Buy

based on my taste and understanding alone.

It was so nice to open the Internet and see that it’s even

the same price on Amazon, and has all spanking good

reviews. They are true: powerful, fast, great advanced

features like sensor and weight-based defrost. Also compact,

lightweight and quiet for a change!

I thought I earlier had a pretty good microwave: Sharp R-440DW

with a touch screen. But this one just blows your mind. It’s like

Swiss watch of microwaves. The controls and instructions

are friendly and natural to use.

On my way home I drove to a store and got a whole

bunch of frozen and other foods. What I do all evening

is cooking, reheating and eating. I just need to

take a break now, to catch some breath. It is so addictive.

Wow!

Regarding reported negatives, people just don’t understand

that it’s a powerful almost industrial machine, so it will

sure leave micro-cracks on flimsy dishware and as any other

one needs regular cleaning or it will burn in the lavishly agitated

food vapor–it’s elementary thermodynamics. So keep it down

a couple of notches for tender stuff.

To avoid counter-top sliding, move it all the way against the

wall and run the cord under the back hump.

Regarding breakdowns, there are no perfect products,

the Sharp, died of a power blackout. This one hopefully has

better parts for the price and brand reputation.

I hope not to be disappointed and wish you the same.

Lots Of Power & Fast Cooking
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a great microwave for use on the counter. The 1300 watts of power really make a difference in cooking times. Most of the time you never need more than 2 minutes to defrost something frozen or heat leftovers to eating temp. The sensor reheat is nice to use..just place a cold plate with food from the frig into the oven and the oven runs until it detects steam and then turns off. Nice feature..no guessing reheat times. This I purchased at Best Buy and paid $125 for it. The interior light only comes on when the door is shut and oven operating. This is not a problem because the kitchen is well lit. The display is best read when viewing straight on..if your looking down on it you can’t see the numbers. Very quiet when running and easy to wipe down or wash off the glass turntable inside. This is the most powerful oven you can buy except for commercial units and what that really means is that nothing makes you wait more than a few minutes! It’s that fast!

Could not see inside while cooking
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Bought this microwave today. Everything was ok until I could not see inside what is happening while cooking. The door paint blocks 50% and most of rest is blocked by safety mesh. For me it defeats everything as I cannot stop spillage or burning when it happens( that is when I am unsure of the setting). Returning tomorrow!

Very Nice Microwave
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We have only had our new Panasonic 1300 watt microwave for a week. Couldn’t wait until Christmas before we opened it. So far it has worked very well.

Our last microwave was a Sharp and the clock/readout display died within a few months. We put up with no display for about 6 years and finally decided we had enough.

The first thing I noticed was how light the Panasonic is compared to the Sharp. It was very easy for me to lift it up on the eye-level cabinet. Had to put some rubber pads under the legs to keep it from sliding around though.

Since the oven is at eye-level we have had no problems reading the clock or seeing the food cooking when the oven is on. Also no problems with the door – just push the button and it opens.

We have used the Food Sensor a couple of times to cook oatmeal. It works just fine.

The only minor complaints we have is that the beeper is not very loud compared to the Sharp. Also the power cord is black on our white microwave. Wish they had made it white.

Otherwise the clock/display is still working and we our very happy with our new Panasonic microwave.

GREAT BUY !!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have a family of two and had an older Whirlpool microwave that was constantly cooking and heating unevenly even when it was new. I bought the Panasonic and it is the perfect size for two people and cooks VERY evenly. It also has several special sensors on it that all work perfectly. I would definitely buy this product again or suggest it to others.

So Far So Good

I have only had the Panasonic Microwave Oven for a short time. During this time it has performed to expectations. It was exactly the size I needed for the location I was putting it in. It has been used daily and works just fine. I would buy it again.

Inverter Microwave Oven- Very Good Performance
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We’ve had this mid-size inverter microwave oven for a few weeks now, and so far it is the best microwave we have ever owned. The inverter modulates the capacity nicely, as opposed to conventional microwaves which cycle maximum power on-and-off. The result is food that is warmed evenly throughout, as opposed to food with areas that are burning hot and other areas which are cool.

The sensor function also works very well, and is very simple to operate. For example, you just push “sensor reheat” and then “start”, and your food or drink is warmed up to just the right temperature.

I like the simple yet functional control panel. There are just enough buttons. Some microwaves have so many buttons that they are confusing to operate. Also, on this microwave the most used buttons are silver oval-shaped, which makes it very intuitive to operate for the vast majority of microwave uses (warming up cooled items and reheating items).

I did a lot of research before buying this microwave, and it is the best one available for the price in the USA.

I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the push button door. We had to replace a Sharp microwave a few years ago due to failure of the push button door; the microwave functioned perfectly otherwise! A similar Panasonic inverter model is available in Canada with a pull handle door (Model NN-S615W), but I could not figure out how to order it and get it shipped to the USA. I contacted Panasonic customer service and they were unhelpful.

Great Microwave
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am an Office Manager for a property management firm in Downtown Chicago. I purchased this Panasonic microwave for the office because I own two other Panasonic microwaves at my personal properties and I am delighted with the brand.

This microwave not only looks nice and clean, but it stands up to use and abuse of the employees. I also have not had any complaints that it doesn’t heat food properly. I would certainly recommend this microwave to anybody.

Love it
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My parents sent us this microwave as a Christmas gift. It was replacing a Magic Chef turn dial style microwave from the dark ages. Not only is this microwave very easy to use, but it also cooks very well. So far I have not had anything boil over or even splatter in this machine and as others have mentioned, food is heated through, not just on the outside. I have noticed that the few times I’ve used the sensor reheat button that I actually have to manually stop it before it dings because the food is already hot enough for my taste. Buy this if you want a smart microwave.

I believe that this may be the very best for the money available. We bought this to replace one that was very similar that lasted three and one half years of fairly heavy family use. We have had machines that have lasted longer but none this cheap with this much power and rotating carousel type tray.

Oldies were goodies

When my 9 year old Panasonic 1100W microwave died, I decided the only way to go was with another one. Well, this is a nice machine and does everything it’s supposed to do, and does it quickly, but it’s not anywhere near as convenient to use as my old one. The old machine showed a name for everything from entrees to popcorn. You pushed the button, keyed in the approximate weight, then pushed start. With this model, you have to look at the book to figure out the sensor cook number. I still haven’t quite figured out how Sensor Cook actually works because the manual is extremely vague. Also, the inverter defrost is more complex due to the method used to break down the weight of items being defrosted.

The unit is light weight, which is nice when you need to move it. However, it can tip forward if you put weight on the door.

Speaking of doors, I don’t like the press-to-open door…it sticks.

Now that I’ve said nothing but bad things, I’ll admit that this microwave is a speed demon when it comes to heating up anything, does a great job at defrosting everything from frozen roasts to delicate fish filets, and is the right size for the space on my counter (this was a major factor). There’s dark, hatched screening on the door which some users have complained about, however, I find that if I stand about three feet from the machine and look through the door at an angle, the food inside can be seen without difficulty. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this microwave, as I am with all the Panasonic products I have in my home.

A good Microwave but…
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
We bought this particular microwave to fit a prexisting cabinet. So our choices were somewhat limited.

It’s a great microwave overall. However there are three small problems.

1. The interior light only lights when the door is closed and the oven is on.

2. Between the grill print on the oven door glass and the interior layer of perforated holes, you can BARELY see the food as it cooks.

3. The alarm beeper is WAY too quiet. We’ve even missed hearing it while cooking nearby.

Panasonic 1300 Watt Microwave Oven
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Very happy with this microwave oven. I looked at many options online and being of medium size was important, while still being able to fit on a counter top under cabinets was essential. It looks great, easy to read and use and does the job. I think I may have paid a bit more than others of similar size but I had narrowed down what features I wanted like good wattage, a turntable, ability to “add a minute” and this microwave offers numerous cooking options while still being intuitive to operate (I rarely need to pull out the book). I recommend it to anyone who want a microwave to cook in, not just for popcorn.

Panasonic NN-SN667W stopped working after 2 months – showed error H97.
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this item on November 26 from Amazon.com; however, on February 17 2009 it stopped working and showed error message, “H97″.

I owned an inexpensive Samsung microwave prior to this and replaced it after several years. I was hesitant to change to the Panasonic but thought it was a reputable brand, but I was wrong. The Panasonic NN-SN667W stopped working after 2 months and showed error H97. It’s dead and now I have to figure out how to get a replacement or a refund.

Not a good experience and will never buy Panasonic again.

Panasonic NN-SN667W Microwave Oven
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We did a lot of research for a new microwave after our old one malfunctioned and

finally chose the one described for the following reasons.

It fit in the confined space at a unique location in our upper cabinets.

The color was white, which was a requirement with our white cabinets.

It had 1300 Watts of power which was better than our minimal requirements based

on our old microwave.

It looks good and is extremely easy to use. It is very quick to warm or cook, something we’ll get used to. Baking Potatoes is easy,

and I am only the Man in the house.

Amazon.com delivered it direct to our home, (free delivery), and I had it

unboxed and set ready to go exactly as planned in our kitchen in less than 10

minutes. When things don’t work right, then I’ll read the instructions, but I

haven’t come to that yet. I like to experiment and re-invent the wheel, but this

is just too easy.

The little roaster that could…
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The Panasonic microwave that my new NN-SN667 replaces had lasted me 23 years, including the original light bulb inside! With that in mind, I gave this brand most of my attention. Nonetheless I devoted considerable time to studying all the major brands, models, types, reading reviews and going to stores to further evaluate what is available today. Although Sharp stood out at times I kept returning to Panasonic, especially after many of the reviews I read. Surprisingly, some of the more upscale Panasonic stainless steel microwaves I examined in stores had doors that were very difficult to open and the units looked bulky when viewed up close. This particular Panasonic microwave, in white metal with a plastic door, is fairly light weight and modestly good looking. The beeps it emits are not overly loud, which improves upon the former model I had. Its basic operations like timed cooking and clock-setting were easy to figure out without the instruction book. I should add that once I did finally read the instruction book I learned about helpful features like ‘keep warm’ and ‘turbo defrost’ that came in handy later.

I have a particular space that the microwave must fit in. I pored over dimensions vs. platter size trying to locate a microwave with enough space inside yet somehow be compact on the outside. With that said, I should have reviewed dimensions from multiple sources (such as going to the manufacturer’s Web site) because Amazon’s stated specs on this unit are slightly out of order. By my own measurements the Panasonic NN-SN667W stands 11-7/8″ high, is 20-1/4″ wide and 15-1/2″ deep if you take into account the 1-inch protrusion on the back of the oven. Trifling difference I know, but I could have moved up to the next larger unit without exceeding my allotted space if Amazon listed the right height.

Many reviewers have commented on how the interior light doesn’t come on when the door is opened. Of course the light DOES come on while items are cooking. No light when the door is open is a benefit if you ask me. This unit is so low slung that humidity may condense at the top inside after heating liquids. You may want to get some splatter guard utensils as well. (I like the Progressive International Microwavable Dome Food Cover.) Anyway, leaving the door open for a couple of minutes lets the microwave’s interior dry without expending the lamp or electricity while doing so. While the unit is cooking and the interior light is lit the view inside to monitor contents is reasonable. I do not think that the mesh in the door window is overly obstructive as some perceive it to be, it is more likely protective. I should also tell you: 1300 watts of cooking power must be regarded with care. Plus be careful not to run another high wattage appliance off the same outlet at the same time you are cooking with this microwave. You may trip a breaker. This microwave’s power cord is only two feet long. If you need more cord length plan on buying a proper power strip. I recommend a Belkin 6-Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector with Rotating Plug and 8′ Cord because the cord is strong and the plug is flat, allowing it to fit into narrow places behind appliances.

A mug of cold water will become heated to near boiling in 1 minute, 30 seconds. It can handily defrost frozen meat although I tend to stop the process in about 1/3 of the time the oven calculates (based on weight that you enter into the defrost mode set up). Perhaps someday I’ll brave microwaving frozen meat for the full duration of calculated defrost and see whether I regret it or not. In the mean time I’ll initiate thawing with this microwave and finish defrost in water.

I share in the opinion that the numeric readout is rough to interpret if seen up close from above. Either stand back a few feet or bend forward slightly to look at it head on. Then the numerals won’t look like all 8s. That’s something that Panasonic could improve upon to make this an even better appliance, which I currently rate as 4-1/2 stars.

Excellent Value for the Money

This is our 3rd Panasonic Microwave oven. We bought it because we’re used to the Panasonic controls and because we’ve found the ovens to be very reliable. We’ve had the oven for about a month and we’re very pleased with it.

We cook fresh vegetables and use the auto sensor cook feature. It seems to work better than our previous oven did.

Good Microwave
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Ordered this microwave to replace a whirlpool brand we had. The microwave works very well and the inverter option is very efficient in thawing foods without cooking the outside first. There are a couple of minor things I miss about this one that our old microwave had. First, our old microwave would do a quick 30 seconds when you just pushed the start button. On this on you have a quick minute button and then have to press start. Most of the time, 1 minute is too long for just a quick zap. Just something we had to get used to. Second is that when the oven is done cooking, you only get on set of beeps letting you know it is done cooking. On our old oven, it would give a couple of beeps every minute until you opened the door. These are just little gripes, overall this is a very nice microwave.

Last 13 months and then lights out for good
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Pick up this Panasonic NN-SN667W from Best Buy last year after our 10 years 900W Panasonic start smell because we over cook something(It was still working but it just has this smell..). Last month or about 13 months later, The 667W just die without any warning – no power to the unit. Luck me, I bought a cheap standby Microwave from Target a months prior for my wife’s shop. The new one has it’s issues – from 1 to 6 are preset minutes so you can’t put in seconds, now I’m shopping for a new Microwave again.

I’m going to get suck in to another Panasonic Microwave again because my wife only wants white one. I think I’m going to pick the 776W just because is 1250W instead of 1300W. There must be a reason that Panasonic make the model within 50Ws. So I cross my finger and hope that the 776W will work for more then 13 months….

This is a very nice microwave. It is very powerful and heats better than any we’ve ever had. What used to take a certain time on our old Sears model, now takes half the time. It’s a good size for the countertop and is a very nice looking unit. The price on Amazon was better than any other place on the web that I could find.
