Best electric grill
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I had to junk my george foreman outdoor grillb because the nonstic keeps peeling off. i bought this and had it shipped in 1 day thanks to amazon prime. I was blown away on how well my rib eye turned out last night,it was juicy on the inside and seared on the outside. Make sure you turn it up to full blast for 10 minutes before you put your steak on and let the steak sit for atleast 5 minutes before eating it. The grill was easy to put together and it is very good quality. I havent cleaned it yet but it looks like it will be easy. to all you apartment owners i dont see any reason why you shouldnt purchase this grill. i love it

Weber electric

I wasn’t pleased with charcoal or propane gas, so the electric way to grill seemed better. The results are the same without the toxins. I love the way components can be removed and cleaned, no more messy caked grill.

I used it tonight to cook fillet and it was fast and cooked it perfectly. I have read some negative reviews but I can not see how anyone could complain about this grill.

The next best thing to gas!

I did my home work on the net reading reviews on electric grills before I purchased the Weber. This is a great grill that really gets hot enough to grill the thickest piece of meat. Improvise and line the bottom of the tray with ceramic tiles (not volcanic rocks) and you’ll get a smokier flavor. I’m not alone in my opihion as two of my neighbors after viewing mine tossed theirs and purchased the same on Amazon.

Weber Q-140 – Surpassed My Expectations!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Last year we moved out of our house and onto a 60 foot motoryacht. The thing that I really missed was grilling (can’t use gas or charcoal grills on a boat in our marina). I was skeptical about buying an electric grill because of the bad reviews that my friends gave regarding the quality of the grills they had. I read the reviews on the Weber Q-140 electric grill and decided to try it. It surpassed all of my expectations! It heats up quickly, produces substantial heat, and the heavy duty stainless steel grilling grids produce great “grill marks”. Although it is small in total grilling area – the results are exceptional. It does a great job on steaks, ribs and chicken. Clean-up is fast and easy – the fat/grease flows into a disposable drip pan and the reflector under the cooking grid slides out for cleaning. I would definitely recommend this grill for anyone living on a boat or in an apartment/condo that prohibits gas/charcoal grills!

Perfect Electric Grill
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I really can’t say there is anything not to like about this grill. It’s easy to assemble, well built, easy to use and easy to clean. And of course, it cooks great! We’ve tried a variety of meats and vegetables and it delivers consistent, quality results. If there is one that can I could offer as a improvement, the dome-shaped lid could be higher inside, as so provide space for “higher” food towards the edges of the grill surface.

Excellent small grill
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this grill for my husband’s birthday/father day gift. We have own at least 4 small electric grills prior to this one. This is the best yet. It cooks evenly and heats quickly. My husband loves it for the occassional single burger or hot dog. Steaks cooks very well also. I would reccommend this for anyone who just needs a grill for cooking small amounts. It doesn’t make sense to startup the big grill for just 2 or 3 burgers.

worst decision I have made
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Sorry I must say this is one of the worst decisions I have made

It is not like any barbeque I have owned.

No grill taste it no different than cooking inside the home on a skillet.

If you like real BBQ this is not for you.

YEAH, WEBER !!!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
It took Weber a long time, but WOW did they get it right! Bought the grill with the cart, brought it home (bought the floor model), plugged it in … and we had unbelievable salmon for dinner!!

Just be careful if you’ve cooked on any other electric grill. This Weber actually gets very hot … no more loooong cook time. In fact, the salmon cooked in exactly the same time as on our charcoal weber.

We’ll be trying other favorites (chicken, steaks, etc.) in the coming weeks. If it’s as good as we think it will be, we may just retire the charcoal grill! We’ll see!

Good for what it is and does

Quite frankly, the Weber name brought me out of the closet to try going electric for my grilling. I’ve always been a briquette Weber kettle griller and still am, but the lure of another way to skin the proverbial cat got me inside the electric grill tent, so to speak. Things I like:

–Quick warm up and ready to cook. Going the traditional briquette route was and is a 30 minute lead time. This electric baby is ready to rock within 5 minutes and that has its place depending on one’s time and schedule. For example, I can grill a hamburger patty about as fast as putting it in a frypan and the grilled burger definitely tastes better without the grease.

–The reflective heat in the egg, or oval, shaped electric grill. It’s intensely hot in there and cooks as fast as a briquete fired kettle Weber.

–Overall convenience and having the main innards of the grill able to go into the dishwasher for cleanup.

Things I’d like to see improved:

–I’d like to have the taste sensation of the burger, steak, chicken breast of being smoked. It’s close, but short of the real deal, it’s just ‘okay’ for now. Perhaps some ceramic briquettes or faux-charcoal briquettes like the gas grills have?

– A built in stand of some kind to put it at waist level so as not to have to invest another $50 or so in a cart.

OVERALL, it’s worth the $200 or so to have this grill. I like it but also like the fact that I can still toggle back and forth between it and my old kettle Weber with charcoal briqs. If the electic was the only game available? I’d still go with it but lament the loss of my Smokey Joe and full sized Weber kettle.

Great Customer Service from Weber
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
First of all, this little grill is excellent! A little pricey, but as my dad always told me “You get what you pay for.” It grills perfectly. It is relatively easy to clean and reline with aluminum foil. But most importantly, it really does cook food exactly as the instructions recommend and the finished product is impressive…fish, chicken, turkey/organic beef, fruit, veggies, sausages…..REALLY it is foolproof! And it’s cute, looks kind of like a space pod.

Now to the title of this review…I had trouble with the heat gauge. Weber sent me an entire new assembly, no questions asked, and didn’t even ask me to return the defective one. No cost for replacement or shipping and it arrived within 48 hours. Now that is what I call CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Great Alternative To Traditional Grill
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I recently moved to a condo that restricted gas or charcoal grill use. So reluctantly I began researching electric grills. I found a variety of offerings, from basic to exotic, < $100 to over $1000. I found the Weber Q-140 to have the most positive reviews on performance, while still being reasonably priced.

I have used it to cook steaks and burgers and found the Q-140 to perform well. The grill seared the steak well while cooking the steak completely.

I would recommend the Weber Q-140 for a condo restricted situation, but I see it as a second grill for instances when you are making a small item for one person.

It’s a Weber so I expected it to be good but this grill is fantastic! I have a balcony where I can’t have a gas or charcoal grill but I was skeptical with all bad things I’ve heard about electric grills. I love to grill so after 3 mos. of looking I finally decided to order. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I’ve had it 1 wk. and grilled hot dogs, chicken and steak…all were great. The steaks sizzled and seared on the grill. Luv it!!

Love my new Weber
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Great that Weber came up with an electric version for the apartment crowd. So far I’ve grilled steaks, ribs, fish and veggies with great success. Just be sure to preheat up to full temperature before putting food on. Electric is still not as hot as charcoal so use a thick cut for steaks if you want them rare. Big enough to cook for a small group and small enough to tuck away on a small apartment deck. When you’re finished cooking it’s fairly well designed for clean-up too.

Not for steaks
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I have a Weber Q and liked it so much, that I bought a Q-140 for my vacation condo because gas grills are not permitted. The style, quality, and construction of the Q-140 is on a par with the Q , which is excellent. So it was with great surprise and deep disappointment that the Q-140 would not come even close to doing a good job at grilling a steak. It doesn’t sear the steak like the Q does. It sort of bakes it and leaves marginal, pathetic grill marks. Not what you want in a grill. However, the Q-140 is just fine for things that need slower cooking at lower heat, such as ribs, pork, shrimp, chicken, veggies, etc. as long as the heat setting is set to Max. Good grill, just not for steak. For steak, I have to fall back on pan searing and then into a 325 oven to finish. I’ve ruined my last steak on the Q-140.

Electric Barbecue Grill

Gas grills are not allowed in my high rise condominium building, and neighbors who have electric grills don’t get enough heat for good grilling. This one does. In fact, if I operate it full blast with the lid closed, the temperature can get up close to 600 degrees.

This is a great electric grill. It gets hot enough to sear a steak. If you can’t use propane, gas or charcoal, this is the one!

Best electric ever
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We have been through many grills through the years, and grill 3-5 days per week. Apartment living reduced that, because the products we tried just could not do the job very well.

For those stuck in an apartment where gas grills are not allowed (no open flames on patios or balconies), this is the best I have seen for emulating a real charcoal grill. We used a Weber gas grill (Go-Anywhere portable) for seven years when traveling th country in an RV, so we were familiar with the company and its products. When we owned a house, we bought a new gas grill every couple of years, staying on the low end of the price range, never springing for a Weber.

The Weber Q-140 electric is the best (and most expensive) we have ever had. The heat is uniform (no hot or cold spots), the heat is sufficient that I can sear anything, and create a criss-cross griddle pattern for show and even cooking. Clean-up is a snap, and the exterior of the grill is not too hot if you accidently lay a hand on it. Like all Weber products, it is exceptionally well designed, and well made.

My biggest concern was the price ($279 list, ~$230 street). When Amazon put it on sale at $191, including shipping, I immediately placed my order. It came complete – the only assembly was attaching the lid handle and the lid, about two minutes effort.

Absolutely no regrets.

Jim and Nancy Morgan
