Good grill, perfect for the city

Does its job for a great price. Was a great alternative for a third floor city condo. Wish it had hinges on the cover so it didn’t need to be taken on and off all the time. Must be picked up in the middle of the base to move or else it will slide apart in your hands.

This is my first time to purchase and use my own barbecue grill. We just moved to a house with a big sunny patio that was just screaming for a barbecue. I read lots about different kinds of grills on amazon and other web sites, especially customer reviews. I had decided on the Weber gold grill, since that seemed to be the all-time favorite. I had concerns about the environmental and health effects of the smoke/pollution caused by traditional grilling, but I thought it was one of those things I’d simply have to deal with, if I wanted to cook tasty food on our wonderful sunny patio.
I don’t know why I didn’t buy that charcoal grill; I had it in my shopping cart at amazon for like a week. I guess I was still worried about the environmental thing. I went back to looking up electric grills, and as before, I noticed most of the reviews were pretty wishy washy. Then, all of a sudden I noticed all of the excellent reviews for this George Foreman grill. Some of the people said the food tastes just as good; some said they actually PREFERRED this to the charcoal grill, and some of them said you can grill outdoors without all of the hassle and mess of charcoal. Oh, I hadn’t thought of that particular advantage! I’d love to have less clean-up to do. Another thing: I don’t know much about making a fire and cooking with it (this was something I figured I’d learn, trial by fire, as they say, once I got my charcoal grill). So … even though I had planned on learning it, I do have lots of other things to do in life, and if there was a way for me to get the effect I wanted (outdoor cooking), without having to learn how to deal with charcoal, etc, well, all the better.
And, the Weber grill was like 50% more expensive than the George Foreman. So I decided, why don’t I just buy the George Foreman, and if I don’t like it, I can always buy a charcoal grill later. In fact, I figured I was going to need at least 2 grills when I throw a backyard party, so why not just start with the cheaper, easier solution and see how it goes.
So I got the George Foreman, and it has been a big hit! When the food is cooking, it smells so good! Smells like a real barbecue to me, even though there’s no charcoal smoke. I’m vegetarian, so we’ve only cooked veggie stuff on the grill … apple-sage artisan veggie sausage links, tofurkey dogs, asparagus, eggplant, veggie skewers (onions, yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes, red peppers, whole garlic cloves), and buns. We tried roasting corn on the cob directly on the grill as shown in the picture, but it got too dry. So we wrapped the corn in aluminum foil, and it comes out so juicy! Yum! Everything else we’ve tried comes out perfect, directly on the grill. We use the grill on the highest temperature setting “5,” and pretty much keep the lid closed the whole time. This electric grill makes so much sense. We have outdoor electrical outlets in the back of the house … why go to all the trouble to make a fire with charcoal when we can get the job done with electricity!
I think it will work out awesome if we just get a couple more before our big housewarming party. My boyfriend says people will complain that it’s not authentic, if we don’t have a charcoal grill. But the thing is: the food is delicious, it’s easier to clean up (in fact, REALLY EASY!), it’s better for the environment, it’s healthier for us (cleaner air to breathe, and less risk of burns or starting a fire, esp. when children are around), and the real fun is being outdoors in the sun, smelling the food cook, and enjoying each juicy morsel hot off the grill, which is definitely what you get with the George Foreman. So if people think I’m wimpy/selling out, well, that’s their problem. The same people who can’t see how sensible this is, surely think I’m wimpy for being vegetarian. So who cares what they think!
I love the grill, and I think most people who try the food cooked on it will love it, too.

This is the second George Foreman grill we have purchased. We used the other one so much we wore it out. Its GREAT !!! Nothing bad could be said about it.
Grill was damaged when I received

Unfortunately the lid of the grill was damaged when it arrived and I did not receive the utensils which were supposed to be included. I did contact the suppler but to date I have not received either. Otherwise, I like the grill very much. Although I don’t think it would grill a steak very well, it is great for fish, chicken, burgers, dogs,veggies etc. and is perfect for our balcony. I probably wouldn’t order online again after this experience.

I had my son over for steak, and aspargus It was so juciy and tender. I made the aspargas on the grill aswell. The grill marks were on the foods. Chicken last night i think i cooked it a little too long. i just have to get used to it. I will be making salmon tonight, can’t wait. The cleaning is great, I didn’t get a chance to clean it for 2 days and the grim and grease just washed away. I put my other george forman away, I can give it away, this is all I need. I used it on my counter top and on the stand, both worked great.

I live in a condominium and therefore can’t use open flame gas/charcoal
grills anymore because of fire regulations. Have used it twice since purchasing and have been very pleased with it. Cooks great.

We love our new George Foreman GGR50B Indoor/Outdoor Grill! It’s easy to assemble and to take apart to clean. Easy to clean, too. We did chicken breasts that I had marinated in Balsalmic Vinagrette overnight in the fridge and they were wonderful! The steaks we did were great too and with 5 heat settings, it’s hard to burn the outside and not get the inside done! Love it!

I have had only one chance to use this grill since I have purchased it. We were making a seafood boil and part of the instructions in the recipe is to bring water, oil, etc. in a large pot (too large for my stove burner) to a boil. On the grill’s highest setting for well over an hour the ingredients in the pot never even came close to a boiling point. On the other hand I am happy with the circular grill top and am anxious to see how it performs for regular grilling.

We bought this grill so we could continue having barbeques on our new deck. Our building does not allow gas or charcoal burning grills so this looked ideal.
I was a bit skeptical at first but the first time we tried it actually the day we got it it was great! WE cooked the most flavorful and juicy turkey burgers!!! This grill ROCKS!!! I have and do recommend it to anyone who wants an easy clean, fast cooking and fun way to have barbeques!
We have had our George Foreman indoor/outdoor grill now for about 2 months and have used it about 4 times per week to cook burgers, chicken breasts, veggies, and we keep trying new things to cook on it all the time.
Go ahead and try this grill! For what it cost us it surely has already paid for itself. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

I was worried steaks and burgers would not taste like they were grilled, and I would wish I had purchased a gas grill. Don’t worry, this thing is great. We use it alot more than I thought we would because it is fast, easy and cleans easily as well. An excellent value.

This grill is ideal for apartment grilling. City ordinances here do not allow the large gas grills on balconies. I looked at the little propane tank options, but decided on the George Foreman Electric grill. It has been a great experience. I’ve had problems with the little grills in the past due to them not getting hot enough and/or being heavily affected by wind.
The George Foreman grill gets very hot and has no problem adequately cooking steaks, burgers, chicken or salmon fillets. It is also very easy to take apart and clean in the kitchen. Lastly, I cooked mostly leaner food, so I haven’t had any issues with the grease catch plate.
Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.

I got this grill as a wedding present, and it’s been one of my favorite gifts! It is light and easy to move, and I love that we can keep it outdoors. It’s great for condos or apartments were gas/coal grills are not allowed. It heats up very fast, and the cooking surface is large enough to accommodate a lot of food at once – no more grilling 2 burgers at a time on our old mini- Foreman! I really like that it comes apart for easy storage, so we can tuck it away during the winter. Like all George Foremans it’s a little bit of a pain to clean (I wish it came with one of those plastic scrapers), but definitely worth getting!

Returned the first grill because the dome lid had a dent on it. Purely cosmetic but I wanted what I had paid for. Received a second grill with a scratch and dent on the done lid. Returned it and canceled my order. I had to call them to get my refund but once that was done it was promptly credited to my account. However, I’m sure the grill would have worked great.

We have used the grill several times since it arrived and I must say that it has surpassed my expectations. It is great for barbeque chicken and ribs. We found that it is especially good for grilling Korean style bulgogi and other dishes.

I used this grill on July 11, 2009 for a ladies day event at my church. The event hosted a little over 300 women. As a vendor at the event I sold hamburgers (beef and homemade turkey burgers), hot dogs (ball park bun length), and turkey sausage dogs (the thick butterball turkey sausage you can cook for breakfast). I cooked 60 burgers, 20 of the turkey sausage dogs, and around 16 hot dogs. This grill held up superbly. I kept a water bottle and paper towels handy to keep the grill wiped down. I was concerned that the catch tray would be full and that I would have a big mess under the grill when I went to clean it out. To my surprise all of the fat from the burgers was in the catch tray, and there was only a small trickle of grease in the base! I was amazed! I purchased my grill at [...]. This was a great investment. I was able to plug the grill directly into the wall and it ran perfectly with no power outages. I sat the grill on a table instead of using the stand. Some of the vendors around me said they wanted to use my idea next year due to the simplicity of it. I received countless compliments on the grill and many of the ladies said they wanted to purchase one. I also use the grill at home, but I had to post a review on how well it worked under pressure.

This grill is great! The ease of grilling got so much easier due to this grill. Everything we’ve grilled has come out perfect. The cleaning of the grill is really easy too. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an easy and quick way to get that grilled taste. We’ve cooked steak, chicken, hot dogs, grilled vegetables and everthing tastes great.
